Suspension Yoga
Suspension/Inversion Yoga is a fun way to practice any form of yoga, suspended in a beautiful hammock made of parachute fabric!
Classes range from Beginner to Intermediate with a wide variety of styles to choose from.
Suspension Yoga combines aerial and grounded poses using an adjustable sling of fabric for support and added handles for stability while incorporating supported inversions for increased spinal health and overall wellbeing.
Suspension Yoga can allow you to perform complex poses and inversions more easily and comfortably, or add an accelerated level of challenge to an already developed practice.
This practice is adaptable for adults of all ages, skill levels, and abilities.
Types of Suspension Inversion Yoga classes include:
Introduction to Suspension Yoga Workshop and Courses
Introduction to Suspension Yoga allows you to experience the benefits and fun of Suspension and Inversion Yoga in a beginner-friendly, small-group environment. This guided workshop presents you with background and safety guidelines, and the opportunity to play and develop sensory connections and muscle memory in the YogiGymâ„¢. This workshop is a prerequisite for other suspension classes.
Intermediate Suspension Yoga
Intermediate Suspension Yoga is a moderately challenging class for those with an adventurous spirit. This class is your next step after the Introduction Workshop or Course! Learn new poses and practice your favourites. Gain strength, improve flexibility, and fly!
Core Challenge Suspension Yoga
This moderately challenging class incorporates core and large muscle building postures, suspension, and inversion for an overall feeling of power and energy.
Easy Evening Suspension Yoga
Easy Evening Suspension Yoga is a gentle class designed to take the weight off your practice. Find comfort and support for tender joints and stiff muscles while relieving tension and increasing your mobility.
Restorative Suspension Yoga
Restorative Suspension Yoga sequences typically involve only five or six poses, supported by props and the YogiGymâ„¢ suspension equipment that allow you to completely relax and recharge. Resting passively for 5 minutes or more, restorative poses include light twists, forward folds, and gentle backbends. No previous Suspension Yoga experience is required for this class.
Pre/Post Natal classes and Therapeutic classes are also available.
