Suspension Yoga Safety Checklist*

  • Do not wear nylon clothing, or any fabric that may be slippery against the nylon parachute material.

  • Wear comfortable, unrestrictive clothing. Shorts are not recommended.

  • It is recommended for ladies to wear a well fitted sports bra that will provide support during inversion.

  • For men, briefs or compression wear are recommended.

  • Remove any loose items out of pockets before inverting, such as coins, cell phones, etc.

  • Remove any jewellery or restrictive accessories before using the suspension equipment.

  • Avoid heavy meals prior to class and do not eat less than two hours before class. But also do not come to class hungry. Having something light such as raw nuts, veggies, fruits, or juice beforehand, or during class will help to stabilise blood sugar levels.

  • Use awareness and proper form with each movement.

  • Always listen to and honour your body's needs. Disengage from any painful movement.

  • Remember to breathe in all positions or routines. Do not hold your breath.

  • Drink water afterwards and stay hydrated during class to maximise the effectiveness.

  • If you suffer from hypoglycemia or low blood sugar, bring light snacks or sweetened tea.

  • Maximum weight tolerance is 300 pounds.

If you have been diagnosed with, or are experiencing the symptoms of any of the following conditions, do not invert without your doctor's approval.

  • Ear, eye, or sinus disorders or infections in the head.

  • Recent surgery or trauma to any internal organs.

  • Broken or fractured bones in the hip or torso area.

  • Recent head or brain injury or trauma.

  • Head and or heart circulatory disorders.

  • Severe spinal cord trauma.
